The Virginia Jack Russell Terrier Club (VJRTC) was founded in 2004, from the efforts of a handful of Jack Russell Terrier enthusiasts across the State of Virginia, and serves as an affiliate of the Jack Russell Terrier Club of America. We are an advocate of the mission of our National Club, the JRTCA – which is to Preserve, Protect and Work the Jack Russell Terrier.

Wendy Palmer Hallenbeck – Thistle Ridge Terriers – graduated from Texas A&M University in 1993 not knowing quite what she wanted to do with her life. But one thing she knew for sure was that sometime and somehow dogs would be involved. Then, in 1996, she purchased a little bundle of pure energy and intelligence and everything changed from there. That little dog, a Jack Russell Terrier named Harley, was responsible for her first job in the publishing industry writing about animals and reviewing dogs products.

Russell Rescue, Inc. (RRI) is a network of volunteers dedicated to placing unwanted or abandoned Jack Russells into permanent homes. RRI arranges for emergency rescues throughout the country, and gathers information designed to match appropriate permanent and temporary homes. It is funded by donations and supported by Jack Russell Terrier lovers and volunteers throughout the world.

The concept for The Bridge Breast Network was born in 1992 and was nurtured by a group of breast cancer survivors who met in the office of Sally Knox, M.D., a breast specialist at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. Dr. Knox often donated her services to patients in her practice who lacked the resources and insurance coverage for breast cancer treatment, and other physicians were always interested and ready to assist by evaluating and even doing procedures.

Willow Walk Cards – I’m not sure when my love affair with cards started but suspect it was in Kindergarten. I remember making cards for a variety of occasions using construction paper, glue and glitter. In grade school, we branched out (pardon the pun!) and collected fall leaves that we rubbed crayons over to create a pattern on the paper. And we got to use macaroni, scraps of fabric, yarn and bric-a-brac to create cards for family and friends.
